"If you build it, they will come."

While we are still boot-strapping the wild undertaking of creating a world-class Montessori school in Delaware County, this year we've seen a huge leap forward with significant renovations or alterations in all of the classrooms that the school hosts!

Our Daycare had significant improvements in their existing rooms, with larger and more functional spaces for our Toddlers, and the creation of a brand new Infant room, slated to open in January 2025. During the summer, our Elementary and Middle School students moved out of their 2nd floor classrooms in the Carriage House, due to outgrowing their spaces. Primary moved out of their classroom in White House, and have been replaced by our Elementary. Middle School have been temporarily living in the School's porch café. Every environment has thus been affected by the renovation projects! Our biggest project is however in our future School Barn (aka currently the Blue Barn), which is still ongoing. The sheer size of the building (over 22,000 sq. ft) has required a project laid out in stages, with phase one currently being finished before winter hits.

(The future School barn on the West side - new slabs for a brand new extension and outdoor porches for Primary and the future School's Kitchen have been poured. New siding will be added over time.)

Phase one includes construction of the permanent location of the Primary (3-6 yrs) classroom, a 2,000 sq. ft space with an additional, separate nap room for the younger students. The room is scheduled to open for students on October 15 and will be able to house 35 students at max capacity.

In addition, two multi-purpose rooms are being finished on the same floor; one assembly room ("The Den") and a Movement Studio, where programming such as ballet, martial arts, yoga, choir, presentations, social gatherings, and more are planned.

Finally, an old and rotted extension has been razed to give space to a new and larger back section, where the future School's commercial kitchen, bathrooms, mechanical room, and more will be built. While we wait for the funds to equip the kitchen with all of its amenties, the Middle School will be able to utilize the Kitchen room and what will be officially the newest built classroom on the school property.

Phase two will continue with renovations on the first floor, hereunder the construction of our new School café and shop, the main stair tower, a reception/office room and a storage room, along with the completion of two additional classrooms on the second floor. It is our hope to start this project in Spring 2025, and be ready for school start in September 2025, in which our Elementary and Middle School will relocate (Middle School though only temporarily, again).

Phase three involves finishing the 3rd and 4th floors, which caps the building off with two further classrooms for Middle and High school, with the second floor classrooms being planned for Lower (6-9 yrs) and Upper Elementary (9-12 yrs).

In addition to finishing the School Barn, more renovations will be done to the Carriage House, including new windows and insulation for the first floor Daycare, and renovations for the upstairs Parent Co-working Space.

We have a few more projects that we'd really like to work on, however, these are still dependent on our student enrollment and budgets, and will therefore not be shared this time. We hope to have more news on the renovations soon and look forward to showing them to you!
